A wonderful place for the homeless and people who is just starting off in Milwaukee without family or friends.
As a volunteer at RotB, I am amazed at the services available and the number of those who shower and eat there! The volunteer health care professionals even have a foot specialist who you laugh with while he's working on them, and actually listen to you about your medical issue. (But I am biased, since I volunteer there!)
I just got banned for something that I haven't done. To be accused of something and then won't allow me to clear my name is insane. But meanwhile staff is hooking up with other staff members and having relationships at the job is so unprofessional. To sit here and talk about everyone is disrespectful. Don't ever come here looking for help, they act like they care but they don't. You will indeed waste your time. If you have kid(s) they aren't allowed to go in there with you, they gotta sit outside. These people are not who they say they are.
Philanthropic recycler of clothes. Do resell rather give away.
Very ignorant staff. I called to ask for the email from Denzel and he continuously yelled at me and threw daggers like you need our help at me. It’s very unfortunate that these people are as ignorant as they are. I’ve tried to explain several times I’m a new company serving Milwaukee co clients on ssi snd ssd asking for a donation of a couch and a stove but they keep asking me for my proof of my residency. Even the Padtor had the same behavior. Just talking over me. Not st all explaining or concerned about what I had to say. Just going on and on about me proving I just moved in a house. Lol. It’s very sad. Trying to do business with black businesses and this is what you get, arguing…. When i actually have very nice housing to accommodate men that’s at their shelter. SMH. After several calm request for an email to communicate and send documentation showing I just bought the house and applied for a occupancy permit to rent rooms but I live out of state. Denzel continued to tell me no. I thank God I wasn’t the one in actual need. very disrespectful and unprofessional.
I have bringing good quality donations here for about 2 years. It's a really good place. I met an elderly woman there last week who had been evicted. I gave her my cane because someone stole her 😠. Then I just stayed and chatted. She was a very interesting person. African American, near 90, had been a communist in the 1930's. We talked politics (and she was sharp as a tack!) Someone else was sleeping in doorway next door. It's so crazy that the city allows people to evict an old woman. What has the world come to?
Homeless outreach are the best there. They will give you clothes and shower help you get insurance. This is one of the places to donate to that needs and will give to homeless. I stop there to see how everyone is doing at times. And employees been there for along time.
They offer many programs there to the homeless they offer meals and there's a lot of people there willing to help the homeless get back on track with housing and other other programs
